The Australian Institute for Performing Arts (AIPA) is proud to offer passionate actors the opportunity to study at Griffith University through this senior student intensive programme.
We are so excited to offer this opportunity to actors in years 9 – 12 (2024) and those who have graduated in the last three years.
We are always being asked for suggestions of tertiary study suggestions for our students. After extensive research into the various universities offering acting programmes, we have found that Griffith University is the course with the strongest industry recommendations. Graduates are working as actors, not in cafes, and the agent sign rate at the end of year showcase is one of the highest in Australia. https://www.griffith.edu.au/
AIPA has worked with the university to design a two-day intensive at university level for our students. It will give students an idea of what it would be like to undertake the course at Griffith and understand their approach to acting. University open days give students information, but actually being taught by the faculty in the classrooms, is an experience far beyond anything else on offer and allows students to make an informed decision before applying. We are confident that students will thrive in this environment and be able to apply the knowledge and skills to their school performances and assessments.
This opportunity is open to serious actors within the age group. Students may also invite their friends from school who are of standard and want to learn at this level. Actors will be treated like adults and will need to demonstrate a level of dedication, maturity and passion. There will be two four hour sessions on Saturday and one four hour session on Sunday. In addition to the classes, students will be given information about the university courses on offer, the application and audition process, and campus life.
